🐧 Linux Beginners: Lo-fi image compression with ImageMagick

December 13 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

A photo of a river on the left and a washed-out, dithered version of the same image on the right. At the bottom there's a short shell script using the program ImageMagick that generates posterized variations of an image with random values from 40% to 100%. There's an arrow and a caption that says, "The threshold value for this one is 75%." The Iffy Books logo is at the bottom right.

On Wednesday, 12/13 at 6 p.m. we’re hosting a workshop on how to make glitchy, distressed images using the command-line program ImageMagick. We’ll be using Ubuntu Linux for the workshop, but it’s also available for macOS and Windows. We’ll provide computers.

If you’ve never used the command line before, that’s OK! This workshop series is intended for total beginners.
